This sermon explores the Beatitudes and Jesus’ upside down ideas about what blessing really means as compared with how we see it in our world.
1/20/2019: The Bible as Story: Why did Jesus get baptized?
This sermon was supposed to be last week, but we got a major snowstorm! So this week, we are considering what it means that Jesus sought out baptism to begin His ministry. What is the message for Him and for all of us? What would it do for our journeys to ” remember our baptism”?

1/6/2019: The Bible as Story: After the Birth (Epiphany)
This week is Epiphany Sunday—the traditional end of the “twelve days of Christmas.” But before we pack it all up and get back to normal, let’s remember together the part of the Christmas story where this teeny, tiny baby son of God disturbs the most powerful and the world already does its worst to try to take Him down! This baby is going to be somebody important!

12/30/2018: Where Did You Come From (Guest Preacher: Elder Lawrie Gardner)
This Sunday, our church had the privilege of hearing from one of our Elders and longtime church members Lawrie Gardner (who is studying for ministry at St. Mary’s). She preaches about Jesus’ family tree and genealogy in Matthew chapter 1 and explores what it means to consider where we all come from; for better or worse!
