WHO WE ARE at Christ Our Anchor

As individuals, we bring together a varied background of Christian traditions, but as a family of faith we are united in a common belief in the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and our call to serve God in our community and the world.

We fullfill this call in our worship; through Christian education; by reaching out to our community and the world in mission; through regular opportunities for fellowship; by providing a weekday preschool program -- Anchors-A-Wee -- for our community; and by being faithful stewards of the totality of our lives as a gift from God.

All are welcomed into our church and into our many activities!

Welcome 2013!

COA WORK DAY

On Saturday, June 15th, please come out to help with a COA work day from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm.  The main project we will be working on is completing the painting of the exterior of the building.  Any helping hands would be great!

Important Things Happening at COA

Pastor Steve starts his Sabbatical May 19! Our prayers go with you!

WOODS INVITES COA TO JOIN THEM THIS SUMMER

In light of the cancellaation of children's VBS and Arts programs this summer at COA, Pam Fusting, Children's Ministry Coordinator from Woods Church, invites the families of COA to participate in the Vacation Bible School and Arts Camp at Woods.

VBS registration is still available for completed Kindergarten - 5th graders at http://www.acswebnetworks.com/woods/vacationbibleschool.  The preschool age group is full, but we can take wait list names. Vacation Bible School this year will be held from Jul 8-12 from 9:30-12:15 each day.  Our theme is Kingdom Rock: Where Kids stand Strong for God!  Cost is $10 per child, $25 max per family.

Woods also has a full-day Summer Day Camp the week of Aug 5 - Aug 9 (9-4 each day) for all children entering 3rd grade through 9th grade.  The summer camp involves creative and performing arts, and includes music, dance, drama, crafts, swimming, games, and worship.  Cost is $110 for the week.  Registration forms for summer day camp can be downloaded from our website at http://www.acswebnetworks.com/woods/summerdaycamp.

Katie McCord, Coordinator for Woods VBS also shares the following information.

"We have 25-30 elementary spots still open for VBS, and we could really use some adult volunteers too if you think any Christ our Anchor parents could commit to help.  One thing that might be nice for them is if I have them in the same group of four small crews that travel together.  We have teams of 7 to 8 kids with leaders and 4 of these crews travel to different activities together.   We’re planning on 16 total crews and 4 traveling teams and I want to have an adult crew leader (I have loads of youth to lead too) for each group of four.  Being a crew leader is really fun and there’s no planning involved, so it would be awesome if you think there’s a parent who could be a crew leader.  I would try and have them with the Arc and Dove kids crews to build in some familiar adult faces and also help us with running the program.

We also require every adult to be involved usually by giving one day of the week at a minimum.  For parents who absolutely can’t do the day a week I intend to ask that they help with decorating or sending in snack items for the program.  I’m also very much in need of PreK teachers and assistants…again, no planning involved, but people who love the little ones would be great if they happen to be available all week.

We’re happy to open the doors of Woods, so kids can learn more about the love of God."

We at COA sincerely thank Woods for this invitation and hope our parents will enjoy these special opportunities.

HELP WITH CHILDREN’S MESSAGE

Help is needed for at least 8 people to volunteer to assist with the children’s message during 2nd Service.  It would be a commitment for one Sunday about every two months.  If you feel you could help out, please contact either Brooke Balderson at
brooke.balderson@gmail.com or Paula Gardner at paula@farrisgardner.com
