Parking: In addition to the parking immediately in front of the church, there is additional parking available in the adjacent Harbor School parking lot on Sunday mornings. There is a path that connects to our parking lot.
Summer Service: June – Labor Day, there will be one single service at 10am. After Labor Day, we’ll return to two services as described below.
Traditional Service: Service is at 9:30 am – 10:30 am with coffee and snacks between services. Everyone is welcome. Led by our Pastor, this service is rooted in historic patterns of worship within the Presbyterian Church, while allowing for the full expression of gifts by the use of a variety of music, liturgical resources and contemporary language. Our choir is lead by Diana Martin, and at different times of the year this service is supported by our Hand Bells group. Our Traditional service bridges the history of the church with the future of God’s people.
Contemporary Service: Service is at 11 am – 12 pm. Led by our Pastor, the contemporary worship service features an upbeat mixture of contemporary, secular and classic music. Powered by a high energy praise band, led by Mike Jarjoura, this service honors our traditions with prayer, scripture and reflection, while bringing opportunities for different expressions of worship alive. While also encouraging the diversity of worship for our community, we remain rooted in our faith and reformed tradition.
Families With Children: Children 4 years old to 5th grade are invited to participate in Sunday School following the children’s message during the Contemporary Worship Service at 11:00 AM. (Children’s Sunday School runs Sept.-May). On Communion Sunday, children remain in worship to celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper
Christ Our Anchor is a “family friendly” church and we welcome you to enjoy the service of worship with your younger children (gurgles and all). Please feel free to exit the sanctuary with your baby or toddler as you feel necessary. There is a designated “crying room” at the end of the hall on the left. Audio of the service is provided there, along with rockers to help calm your little one. An usher can point the way.
Nursery for little ones is available for the 9:30 service. The nursery will be located in the preschool room off the back hallway on the left closest to the exit to the playground. Ask an usher to show you the way.
Check out the Blue Wagon! Please take a look at our blue wagon just outside the entrance to the Sanctuary. In the wagon you will find a variety of items to keep your little ones busy during the service. There are clipboards with paper and crayons, children’s books, and a snack. Please return the clipboards and books to the wagon at the end of worship.
Offering: A financial offering will be collected to support the mission and ministry of the church. While our members support the work of the church, please don’t feel obligated to contribute, unless you feel led. Offering envelopes are available in the Narthex for your use: please add your name and phone number and place in the collection plates. We will keep a record of your gifts for tax purposes at the end of the year. Every gift is important. and using the envelope allows us to thank you, and give you credit for your generosity.
