This week we continue our Stewardship Campaign “Connecting the Dots….From Faith to Action”, each week presenting some of our church’s dreams for faithfulness and community engagement. Our speakers this Sunday focused on our Mission Committee’s new focus on mental health/addiction issues in our community—something we believe more churches should “count” as mission.

In this second week of stewardship, we continue to present our faith community’s dreams for the future: the result of much discernment, discussion and prayer. This Sunday, in particular, lay leaders presented the dream of adding a part-time Christian Educator to COA staff and why we believe that would help us be more faithful to God’s calling for us.

This morning our sermon time focuses on the Parable of the Talents—in what ways do we bury our gifts in the ground rather than taking a risk, trying something new or putting ourselves out there? This marks Week 1 of our annual stewardship campaign with the theme “Connecting the Dots….from Faith to Action”.
This is the last week of our summer sermon series, where we focus on Fall / Autumn. We will explore Fall’s invitations to change and transformation, mirrored in the beauty and melancholy of the natural world around us.
This week we explore the spiritual and relational blessings of summertime—a favorite season of so many people. We also consider what God asks of us in a time of blessing; how we might bless others in return.
