This Sunday we ordained our new Elders, or leaders serving on Session. This is a sacred responsibility based upon the principle of the “priesthood of all believers”. No person of faith is more important than any other. We all have gifts and we all have a calling from God, and how do we embrace these while still dealing with areas of weakness. God chooses imperfect people to be leaders in faith.

This week’s sermon focuses on the phrase from our poem saying “fast from words that pollute, feast on phrases that purify”, focusing on how the way that we speak affects the way we think and feel, and ultimately how our words can even shape our spiritual health.
