This week we dive into our summer sermon series beginning with the “deadly sin” of Gluttony. We explore how this issue is about more than weight or food. How does Gluttony operate in all of our lives as a way to fill ourselves up with the easiest and most convenient things rather than depending on God to meet our needs?
6/17/2018: Our Favorite Sins: “The Seven Deadly Sins” and how to find life beyond them
This is an introduction to a new sermon series for summer exploring how the historic concept of the “seven deadly sins” can help us get to know ourselves and therefore get to know God in a deeper, more meaningful way. Each week we will examine one sin in particular and consider how it affects us, our culture and even the church!
6/10/2018: “Where Did Sin Come From?”
This sermon explores the concept of sin, rethinking the story of Adam and Eve from the first book of the Bible (Genesis chapter 3). How do we make sense of sin in our modern world? Are we meant to take this story literally?
6/3/2018: “Whatever Happened to Sabbath?”
This week the sermon explores all the ways we resist God’s command to build rest and balance into our lives and why we might want to rethink the idea of a sabbath.
