Ash Wednesday is a special service marking the beginning of the season of Lent, and one which we observe each year at COA with communion and the imposition of ashes.

How do we make sense of moments of glory (like Jesus transfigured on the mountaintop) when we live down in the valley of everyday life? This sermon explores how we can get the most from the mountaintop, and find strength for the ordinary stuff of life.
FEBRUARY 19, 2017: “WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY AND…”
This sermon considers what enemies look like in our everyday world and what we can do when we find that the real enemy is often within ourselves.

FEBRUARY 5, 2017: YOUTH SUNDAY
God’s Team was the theme of this year’s youth Sunday. Ryan McNeal, a graduating senior, was our Coach/Preacher. We had the entire church “pick a side” based on the teams playing in the Superbowl (Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots) and the sermon was combined with a skit. Over 20 youth participated and it was a great day!!
