9/9/2018: The Bible as Story: Flood and Promise
This sermon is the first one exploring a new lectionary that we will be using for our church called Narrative Lectionary. It goes through the entire Bible on a four year cycle (from Old Testament to New and back again), with a focus on the stories and how they all connect to make one big story of God and human beings.
We begin with the famous story of Noah’s Ark—not as much of a children’s tale as we always thought. Let’s wrestle with it together!

9/2/2018: “Our Children’s Children: The Future of Faith”
This Sunday was very special because it was the day Pastor Jessie’s daughter Penny got baptized. Our community of faith welcomed her with open arms. The sermon used this occasion to reflect on how we pass on faith to our young people in a scary, divided world.

This sermon uses the story of Solomon asking for wisdom before he becomes king of Israel to help us consider what we desire and what we wish for, given so many choices in our culture.
