This week, we explore how we know we are growing; what fruits we bear in our lives. Specifically we explore what Paul lists as fruits of the Spirit; enabled in all of us by the Holy Spirit living in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness and self control. None of us is finished growing yet. What is God growing in your life?
10/11/2020: Giving and Growing WEEK 2: Growing UP
This sermon considers how we grow once seeds and roots have been planted: how do we mature? What does maturity look like in the life of faith? What lessons can we learn for our spiritual maturity from the way that we grow up into adulthood? How does our giving change as we grow
This sermon begins with a video interview with two young ladies who grew up in our church community (Hannah Urlock—current Youth Group member; Megan Ciccarone—current Youth Group leader).
10/04/2020: Giving and Growing Week 1: Growing DEEP
This is the first week of our annual stewardship series with the theme Giving and Growing. Each week, we ask how we grow as people; how we mature and deepen our faith, our relationships and our purpose in this troubled world. This first week, we focus on growing DEEP, or planting roots. In a time where very few of us know how to be still or stay put, how can we ground ourselves in God and what God might want for our lives?
9/27/2020: Guest Preacher Rev. Robert Bohnsack
This sermon is gifted to us by Rev. Robert Bohnsack, a Presbyterian pastor and Air Force Chaplain. We are grateful to him and his perspective in these times.
9/20/2020: Does God Care about Everyone? Abraham’s Other Family
This sermon explores the often-overlooked story of Abraham and Sarah’s slave woman Hagar. She has her own story of promises from God to her descendents, and we do well to always ask “whose voice are we not hearing? Who do we need to listen to in order to be more faithful to a God who has plans for us all?”
