This week is very special and bittersweet for COA because it is the last day for Mike Jarjoura as Assistant Music Director after 21 years of wonderful work for our community. Included in this service is a special video tribute to him from various members of the congregation who love him so dearly. That can be found towards the end of the service.
Also this is the final week of our summer sermon series “Never Stop Growing”, and this week we come to the final Fruit of the Spirit of Self-Control. So many of us associate this with mundane, everyday things like weight loss, but it is much larger than that. What does it mean for us to order our choices, our energy, our emotions and our relationships such that our world around us most benefits? This last Fruit is intimately connected with the first Fruit of Love. It has been a wonderful journey with you all through all nine flavors of this Fruit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self Control.
