This sermon kicks off a sermon series for Lent called “Ordinary People: Examining those Around Jesus”. Jesus had several people who spent a lot of time with Him. Not all of them liked Him or followed His teachings. ALL of them are flawed and challenging and have lessons for us as modern day disciples trying (and failing) to be who God made us to be. We begin with Matthew, the guy with the terrible reputation.
