There is a special resource in our community called Family to Family. It is a course offered through NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and it
- meets weekly for twelve weeks
- begins Thursday 1/25 6:30-9:00 PM at Woods Memorial Church in Severna Park
- FREE
- focused on how loved ones of people with mental health issues can better cope and thrive in their lives.
It is appropriate for parents, grandparents, spouses, siblings and children of people with mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, bipolar or schizophrenia. This is a prevalent issue in our community as you heard from Mission Committee this Fall.
When someone you love has any kind of chronic illness, it can be just as hard on the caregiver as it is on the person with the diagnosis. If you don’t care for yourself, you cannot offer wholeness and love to anyone else. Prayers for all of you with whatever you may be dealing with day to day in the coming year. Know that Pastor Jessie and COA members are here for you always!
