Join Pastor Jessie and other church members for an informal book study and discussion throughout the season of Lent based on the book Forgiveness by Marjorie J. Thompson. This is an important theme during this season, and we will think together about what forgiveness looks like in ourselves, our families, and in our divided world. We will be meeting on Tuesday mornings (between 3/12 and 4/16 from 6:45-7:45 AM in hopes that some of you can join us before work. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO COME EVERY WEEK TO PARTICIPATE. Please RSVP to Pastor Jessie at email@example.com so she can order enough copies of the book.
Presentation on 2/26-6:30-8:30 pm: De-Escalation in Crisis Mission Committee would like to invite you (and any interested community members) to a special presentation by Officer Steve Thomas focused on de-escalation and interaction tips for folks in our community who may be dealing with behavioral or mental health concerns. Officer Thomas is an Anne Arundel County Police Officer who is trained as part of their Crisis Intervention Team to deal sensitively with mental health episodes. Instead of reacting in fear, let’s learn how to be proactive with love and compassion and research-based techniques. All are welcome, but RSVPs are appreciated. Contact the church at firstname.lastname@example.org or (410)974-1713
Movie Night for the Soul: Friday 3/15 at 7:00 pm
COA is excited to host a movie night with a film that is both humorous, but also extremely
spiritual and thought-provoking called “Henry Poole is Here”. We would like to ask people to bring various kinds of popcorn (especially the “gourmet” kind!), and a time for discussion will follow the film. Please note: because the film has some mature themes, this is an event geared towards 6th grade and older, but ALL ARE WELCOME!!
Mark the beginning of the 40-day Lenten Season by joining us for our annual Pancake Supper on Shrove in the sanctuary.
We will be serving pancakes with all the toppings, sausage, fruit, juice, coffee and traditional King Cake!
Food, fun, and fellowship for the whole family!
The signup sheet for the pancake supper is located on the Deacon bulletin board.
Please come out for a night of fun and fellowship!
Admission is free. Donations will be accepted.
