CHILDRENS CHOIR

The Children's Choir enjoys a special place in the life at Christ Our Anchor Presbyterian Church. We provide an opportunity for the youngest members of the congregation to participate in the worship service. The Choir joins both worship services about once a month from September - May.

They present the Christmas Eve pageant and a spring cantata. We bring the congregation into the sanctuary waving palms on Palm Sunday and they sing with the Youth Group, Adult Choirs and Praise Band as well.

Throughout the year, the Choir learns many songs of our faith and basic musicianship. The members also have the chance to play percussion instruments and hand chimes. Friends are always welcome to join us for dinner and practice Thursday evenings at 5:45pm. The choir will end the year with a family potluck picnic celebration in June.

In the summer, COA will host the 2nd Annual Music and Arts Camp (details to follow).

Parent Involvement

Parents are needed to take turns providing a kid friendly and healthy meal each Thursday evening. We feed approximately 25-35 people on Thursday evenings and provide pancakes on the Sundays that the children are singing in the service.

Meal participation options include:
- Sign up to provide a dinner
- Contribute money and someone else will prepare.

Support teams are needed to:
- Coordinate dinners & pancakes
- Assist serving & cleaning up
- Organize costumes
- Help children with learning their lines, etc.
- Perform with the choir
- Do an activity with the group once a month

All those who wish to make a joyful sound, come and see what it is all about. August 30 from 5:30-7:00pm. We will sing on "Back Pack Sunday" (September 9).
