COA Adult Mission Team Heading to New Bern, NC – Thirteen
volunteers including 4 from other churches will be departing for New
Bern, NC on Sunday, March 15th to spend a week helping to repair homes
damaged by Hurricane Florence which struck the area September, 2018.
This will be the largest group of volunteers we have had in the 22
mission trips we’ve made since Katrina hit the Gulf in 2005. Last March
we worked at several flood damaged homes in Kinston, NC, which were
affected by the same storm system in 2018. We will be working with
the Habitat for Humanity group in New Bern and will be housed at the
New Hope Volunteer Village at Neuse Forest Presbyterian Church. With
the exception of electrical work, plumbing and HVAC work, we take on
most other repairs requested of us including flooring, sheetrock, tile
work, installing doors and windows, caulking, painting and landscape
work.
The COA team has been going to central coastal New Jersey since 2013
to repair homes damaged by Super Storm Sandy. This year we will most
likely be going there the 3 rd or 4 th week in October. If you are interested
in joining us or learning more about our mission trips, please contact
Mike or Joan Henderson at 410-757-6525 or hjoanandmike@aol.com.
